Shade Sails: Instant Affordable Shade
Shade Sails are a very affordable way to give some shade around your tiny home that looks great and is fast and easy to install. My cabin is a rental in Marlin Wa. and I have a lovely renter that has two adorable pugs. The building is actually an open RV parking area that we have converted to a dog kennel. We have added a doggie door that goes out to the area that is in full direct almost all day sun, so I wanted to add a little shady sitting area.

I purchased the shade sail on Amazon and it is manufactured by San Diego Shade Sails. If you have ever priced material that blocks out UV rays the sun, you know it is expensive. It is more affordable if you buy it all ready sized.
The shade sail is 10 X 10 and was $59.95. San Diego Shade Sails also makes triangle shapes which I love. I highly recommend this product. The color is called Sandy Beach. There are many other colors available.

Beautiful For Three Seasons
The material is so thick and impressive and the quality is extraordinary. I will be able to leave it up for three seasons. Two ends are attached to the building and the other ends have high quality galvanized posts that are threaded with nipples and couplers. We did it this way, so we could remove the posts in winter. I thought it would look odd to have posts sticking up there. I will place pots or something over the cemented nipples, so know one trips.
This is some great information, and I appreciate your point that shade sails are an affordable way to block the sun around your home. My husband and I just installed a patio, and it gets a lot of sunlight which can be uncomfortable, especially around midday. We’d like to have some shade there, but we don’t want to spend a lot of money on buying cover, so we’ll definitely look into installing a sail. Thanks for the great post!
